There is more than one way to play

1. extra battalion count

Play so that your allowed battalion limit equals your total castles owned, regardless if they are contested or uncontested.

Benefit of play: This allows players to deploy soldier cards more freely with less danger of having no available battalions.

2. Defensive bonus to castles

When a battalion attacks your castle, if there is a battalion defending it, the attacker loses 1 random soldier card automatically at the start of the battle.

Benefit of play: players may find new strategies implementing a more defensive style of play.

3. Shared ally castles (team)

In a team game, players are allowed to deploy to an ally's castle. Since walking onto an ally's castle allows you to take control of it, kindly ask your ally's permission before doing so.

Benefit of play: players may enjoy having more interaction with their teammate while simultaneously mixing up the battlefield.
